About Gino
Gino Laios is a recognized leader in corporate security, with more than 20 years of experience across consumer goods, consulting and security services. For nearly two decades he helped build and strengthen global security programs at Philip Morris International, directing risk management strategies spanning transport, logistics, warehousing, product and manufacturing, and leading crisis management and response, protecting people, assets and operations across a global manufacturing and distribution network.
Former Vice Chair of TAPA EMEA and today a TAPA EMEA Ambassador, he helps shape the transport and supply chain security standards used across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, a region where TAPA recorded over €1 billion of freight theft in the eighteen months to June 2026. As founder of the TAPA Romania Chapter, he has been a leading advocate for the country chapter model and for the professionalization of local logistics operators.
He has held senior and executive roles at PMI, G4S and Securitas, with regional security leadership spanning the European Union, Switzerland, the UK and Israel. Named 2025 Security Manager of the Year at the Romanian Security Industry Awards, he argues that a security function earns its place only when it can explain how the business actually makes money, what must keep operating, and how much disruption the business can genuinely tolerate.

Cargo crime has evolved from localised pilferage into a highly sophisticated, technology-driven enterprise risk orchestrated by organised crime groups. Despite growing severity, supply chain security remains a boardroom blind spot, masked by systemic underreporting, insurance coverage gaps, and human vulnerabilities exacerbated by industry talent shortages. Concurrently, AI fuels advanced fraud while offering predictive defense, and nearshoring introduces unvetted trade corridors. This panel demonstrates why cargo theft must move from the loading bay to the C-suite risk register. Enterprise leaders will explore how leveraging international security standards, auditing cross-policy insurance gaps, and strengthening operational vetting transform security from a cost center into a strategic value driver.
