7 Alternatives to Gartner Supply Chain Symposium in 2026

Disclosure: TFEST26 appears on this list and is run by the publisher of this post. It is placed by what it does rather than by whose site this is, and its limitations are listed alongside everyone else's.

TL;DR: No single event replaces Gartner Supply Chain Symposium, because it does three separable jobs: analyst research, vendor evaluation, and peer networking. Pick the alternative that matches the job you actually came for. The seven below are grouped by which job they replace.

Gartner Supply Chain Symposium/Xpo ran in Barcelona in May 2026 and returns to the Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona on 24 to 26 May 2027. It is a well-run event with a genuinely deep research bench, and for some leaders it remains the right choice.

Leaders search for alternatives for three consistent reasons. The pass was €4,400 plus VAT for 2026 standard registration before travel, which puts the realistic all-in cost between €6,500 and €8,500. The analyst-led format leaves peer conversation to hallway chance. And a mixed audience of 2,000-plus dilutes CSCO-to-CSCO density even though the absolute number of senior people is high.

The mistake is looking for one event that does everything the Symposium does. Decide which of the three jobs matters most, then pick from that group.

If you want peer benchmarking

1. TFEST26, Berlin

Replaces: the peer-networking job, which is the one the Symposium format serves least well.

TFEST26 runs 1 and 2 December 2026 at the Colosseum Berlin with a delegate tier capped at Director level and above by application. The TFEST25 seniority split was 17% C-suite, 41% VP or Senior VP, and 42% Director, with over 60% from organisations above $1B revenue. Around 200 pre-scheduled 1:1 meetings ran across the two days, with most delegates getting six to ten. The standard pass sits under €2,000, so the all-in cost per attendee lands between €3,000 and €4,000.

Honest limitation: no analyst sessions at all, Berlin-only with no virtual track, and an exhibitor footprint of roughly 25 sponsors that is far too small if you are mid-way through a platform selection.

2. BME European Procurement & Supply Chain Excellence Summit, Berlin

Replaces: peer benchmarking, weighted toward procurement rather than end-to-end supply chain.

Run by BME, the German procurement association representing more than 13,000 members with over €1.25 trillion in annual purchasing volume, this is an invitation-only summit for CPOs, CSCOs, SVPs and heads of function. The 2027 edition runs 19 to 20 April 2027 in Berlin.

Honest limitation: invitation-only means you cannot simply buy a ticket, and the procurement weighting makes it a partial fit for a CSCO whose mandate centres on planning or logistics.

3. BVL Supply Chain CX, Berlin

Replaces: peer networking at larger scale, with a German-market centre of gravity.

Formerly the Deutscher Logistik-Kongress, BVL's flagship runs 21 and 22 October 2026 at the Estrel Berlin, shortened from three days to two for this edition. It pairs a congress aimed at senior decision-makers with an expo of 120-plus exhibitors, so it partially covers the vendor job as well.

Honest limitation: heavily German in language and attendee base. Strong if your operations centre on the DACH region, thinner if your remit is pan-European or UK-led.

If you want vendor evaluation

4. LogiMAT, Stuttgart

Replaces: the Xpo half of the Symposium, at roughly ten times the vendor count.

LogiMAT 2026 drew 69,856 trade visitors and 1,671 exhibitors from 46 countries across 10 halls and 120,000 square metres. The 2027 edition runs 16 to 18 March 2027. Against the Symposium's 150-plus exhibitors, this is not a close comparison.

Honest limitation: almost no strategic content for a CSCO, and the visitor base skews operational at 55% manufacturing. Send your head of logistics or automation rather than attending yourself.

5. Multimodal, NEC Birmingham

Replaces: vendor evaluation for UK freight and multimodal buyers, at zero admission cost.

Multimodal runs at the NEC Birmingham as part of UK Logistics Week, with 13,500-plus attendees, 300-plus exhibitors, and 80-plus free conference sessions alongside the floor. For a UK-based leader who wants a market view without a four-figure pass, it is the cheapest serious option on this list.

Honest limitation: free admission means no screening on visitor quality, the mix is operational and mid-management, and continental European participation is limited.

If you want analyst and research depth

6. Gartner Supply Chain Planning Summit, London

Replaces: the Symposium's analyst content, narrowed to planning and closer to home for UK leaders.

The Planning Summit runs 5 and 6 October 2026 at the InterContinental London at The O2, drawing on the same analyst pool as Barcelona with an agenda focused on demand forecasting, IBP, S&OP, and autonomous planning. For a UK-based leader, the travel saving against Barcelona is substantial.

Honest limitation: it is still Gartner, so if your reason for seeking an alternative was the analyst-led format or the price, this solves neither. Gartner does not publish attendance for the vertical summits.

7. Reuters Events Supply Chain Europe, Amsterdam

Replaces: research-led content with a practitioner rather than analyst voice.

Reuters runs a practitioner-heavy agenda with case studies from named organisations, positioned between Gartner's analyst framing and a pure peer event. Amsterdam is well connected across Europe.

Honest limitation: a larger and less screened audience than a capped executive event, so peer density sits below what a screened format delivers.

What none of these replaces

Gartner's analyst bench is real and no event on this list matches it. The 2026 Symposium put 50-plus analysts on site with 1:1 inquiry slots bookable against the people who authored the research. If your genuine need is an hour with the analyst behind a specific Magic Quadrant, book Gartner and stop reading comparison posts.

The counter-argument, and the reason leaders still look for alternatives, is that most senior CSCOs at large European organisations already reach those analysts through a corporate subscription. In that case the in-person inquiry is a convenience rather than the reason to spend €8,000 and three days.

How to choose in one pass

Write down the single outcome that would make the trip worth it. If it is "I want to know what three comparable companies did about agentic procurement", a screened peer event answers it and the Symposium probably will not. If it is "I need to shortlist warehouse automation vendors", LogiMAT answers it and no peer event will. If it is "I need Gartner's view on the planning market", the London Planning Summit answers it more cheaply than Barcelona.

Leaders like Sarah Ricketts, SVP Procurement at Rolls-Royce, and Anita Arts, who has held both CSCO and CPO roles, tend to attend fewer events with sharper objectives rather than more events chosen by brand recognition.

If you are choosing the whole 2026 calendar rather than one substitution, our ranked guide to European supply chain conferences covers twelve options grouped by format, and the head-to-head comparison of TFEST and Gartner Symposium goes deeper on those two specifically.

Dates and prices move. Gartner published its 2027 Barcelona dates early, and most alternatives here confirm theirs six to nine months ahead, so we re-check this list each quarter and update it as 2027 programmes are announced. The TFEST26 agenda is published in full if you want to judge the peer-event option on its sessions rather than its marketing.

Frequently asked

What is the best alternative to Gartner Supply Chain Symposium?

It depends which part of Gartner you are replacing. For peer benchmarking with screened senior practitioners, a capped executive conference is the closest substitute. For vendor evaluation, a trade expo such as LogiMAT covers far more of the market. For analyst research specifically, the honest answer is that no European event replaces Gartner's analyst bench.

Is there a UK alternative to Gartner Supply Chain Symposium?

Several run in the UK. Gartner's own Supply Chain Planning Summit is in London in October, World Procurement Congress and Procurement & Supply Chain LIVE both run in London, and Multimodal runs at the NEC Birmingham. None replicates the Barcelona Symposium's scale, but each covers a narrower slice more deeply and costs considerably less to reach.

Why do supply chain leaders look for Gartner Symposium alternatives?

Three reasons come up repeatedly: the pass price of €4,400 plus VAT before travel, the analyst-led format that leaves peer conversation to hallway chance, and the mixed 2,000-plus attendee body that dilutes CSCO-to-CSCO density. Leaders who already access Gartner analysts through a corporate subscription tend to feel they are paying twice.

How much does Gartner Supply Chain Symposium cost?

The 2026 Barcelona edition listed €4,400 plus VAT for standard registration, with €3,525 plus VAT for public sector and group discounts of one free registration per four paid. Adding Barcelona hotel and flights during event week, the realistic total per attendee lands between €6,500 and €8,500.

When is Gartner Supply Chain Symposium 2027?

The 2027 edition runs 24 to 26 May 2027 at the Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona, the same venue as 2026. If you are comparing options for the 2027 calendar, most of the alternatives below publish their dates between six and nine months ahead, so a decision in autumn 2026 is realistic.

Can you replace Gartner analyst access with a peer conference?

Not directly, and any event claiming otherwise is overselling. Analyst briefings and peer benchmarking answer different questions. What peer events do replace is the part most leaders actually wanted, which is hearing what a comparable organisation tried, what it cost, and what they would do differently.

Is it worth attending both Gartner Symposium and a peer conference?

Many leaders do, and it is a defensible split when the budget allows. The common pattern uses Gartner for analyst inquiry slots and market-wide research, then a smaller screened event for the benchmarking conversations the Symposium format leaves to chance. Attending two events of the same type rarely pays back.
