About Birgit
In her current role as Vice President Supply Chain Automotive, Birgit leads on the supply chain and production, life cycle management, customer service and transfer and conversion management. She started her career as an international graduate within Siemens & Infineon in Corporate Purchasing, before moving onto positions in procurement, logistics and supply chain. Birgit has a strong focus on operational excellence, process and project management with a key focus on the digitalization of supply chain and manufacturing.
As well as her broad leadership experience in supply chain integration, she has an acute focus on people management, communication and organizational transformation.
Session Overview
How modern network design tools weigh resilience against cost when trade policy and demand keep shifting. Drawing on a large-scale consumer-products network rebuild, this session walks through reconfiguring production and distribution footprints to absorb disruption and limit tariff and trade exposure, using strategic redundancy, regional capacity, and dual-sourcing, without eroding the cost base. Case data: a global manufacturer reconfigured its network to cut disruption recovery time by 40% and reduce landed cost by 12%, while building in capacity to flex against supply shocks.
